Welcome Alex. Maybe your book will be a good tool in helping my friends to understand how JW's think and act. Everytime my wife and me try to explain how witnesses think we usually get the deer in the headlights look. Good luck with your book and great to have you on board. Still Totally ADD

WT rules about Adultry and forgiveness
by Addison0998 ini hate the rule about if your mate cheats on you, and you have sex with them, you are not free to remarry because the sex means you forgave them and keeps you stuck with them!
i personally disagree and think it’s so controlling that they think they can dictate what goes on behind closed doors between two consenting, legally married married people.
and that they think they have the right to label what other people’s sex means.

Makes sense on what you are saying but always remember this. It's a Cult. It's all about control. Still Totally ADD

The older I get the more angry I become!
by Sour Grapes ini did some self-reflection today trying to determine why, with every passing day, i become angrier against the watchtower company.
i am in my 70's and my health is failing.
at first, i thought it was because "worldly" people couldn't care less about jdubs and the little world they live in even though the witlesses think that the earth revolves around them and their desert god who was originally worshipped by the cainites.

Sour Grapes I will be turning 64 this June and I hear where you are coming from. I am now in the regret stage with a little anger throw in. I watch a movie a few weeks ago called "If you don't see your name in the obit have breakfast" or something like that. It truly lifted my spirits showing I still have a lot of life left. I learn from the movie having a positive attitude and keeping my mind and body active in doing something you enjoy is a big key to a long and healthy life. I encourage you to watch this movie. It's fun to watch and maybe it will relieve some of that anger.
I look at it this way. The Borg took so much of our lives from us and it's our job or at least for me my job to prove to those still trap in the cult that leaving it didn't lead to a horrible life but to a happy and good life. Getting old sucks but as my wife always has told me though the years it beats the alternative. Lol. Take care. Still Totally ADD

Back in the 90's in FL many Hall's that were being built and older Hall's being renovated they used vinyl wall covering for a finish look. Because of the high humidity it cause massive mold problems in many KH's. Lots of time and money was wasted because of no foresight in how vinyl wall covering was not a good idea for construction in FL. Still Totally ADD

JWs and the Holocaust
by Stealth inthe jws always like to highlight their persecution during the holocaust.
while true, the chart below showing numbers of victims for jw was the lowest of all persecuted groups.
even lower than spanish republicans.. im guessing there have been more victims due to the wt blood policy.

Very true on what you say. I remember back in the 90's I visited the new Holocaust museum in St. Pete FL. They had a very nice section on JW's. But the numbers they was giving on how many JW's were in the camps was way off. They said millions of JW's was part of the Holocaust. I ask to talk to the curator of the museum. I let him know that number was wrong and told him it was more like 5,000 - 10,000 was part of the Holocaust and there wasn't even a million JW's in the world at that time. I can't remember the correct number but I wonder if this number has been inflated elsewhere.
I think the women who took care of the SS children most likely did not try to convert them because of fear for their lives. We can only guess what was taking place with them but I do know if we have never gone through this situation we will never understand why they did what they did. Just like those who have loss a child due to no blood policy we will never fully understand their loss. Still Totally ADD

April 2018 Broadcast - normal weird stuff
by Listener inwe hear a story regarding the life of thomas and emma.
she states that "when thomas and i first learnt that i was pregnant, we were both really shocked" she doesn't explain why they were both really shocked but it seems an odd reaction unless they were using the safest contraception invented or hadn't been told about the bird and the bees.two experiences that touched the heart of gb sanderson were as follows -.
in russia a jw was jailed for 6 months, the jailers did everything to try to undermine his faith, which included violence.

Are you better off as a worldly person or a JW?
by Jules Saturn ini was having a conversation with a relative who has been inactive for several decades (part of the ‘75 generation) and he argued that a person that is a born in is better off staying in the organization rather than someone like him who lived as a “worldly” person but then became a witness later in life.
he argues that when you’re born in, all you know nothing outside of the organization, so you’re better off in than out, that’s why when born ins leave the org, they always come back.
i agree that as a born in, your social circle is composed of witnesses but i do feel that even born ins would be happier outside of the org than being in.

It reminds me back in the early 70's when many new ones coming into the organization. These new ones would always tell me how lucky I was being a born-in because I didn't have to go through the problems being in the world. Making me feel like my life was nothing because of the so called hardships they went through. Having no idea of the abuses many of us born-ins went through. So in my opinion escaping the Borg was one of the best things in my life and NO I am not thinking about ever going back. Still Totally ADD

Jourles welcome back. I seem to remember you when I first came on this site. I started as Totally ADD then my computer died and lost my password so now I am called Still Totally ADD. Thank you for being ones of the original posters that kept this site going. It has helped so many people who escaped the wt. cult. I would like to ask you some questions. How did you find this site? What was it like in the early days to post here? Were you paranoid a little the wt. would somehow find you out? How is this site now compared to when you first came on? I feel many here would be interested in your answer. Good to hear from you. Take care. Still Totally ADD

The secret fears - did you have any?
by days of future passed ini think many jw's have secret fears in common, but don't often voice them.
it's too bad because then they might wonder why?.
for instance, one day at work while i was talking to one of the witness ladies, (on her belief of some bible proof of the last days) she suddenly lowered her voice.

cha ching yes through my childhood demons was a main theme at the meetings and in my dreams or should I say nightmares. My thinking is this s part of the spiritual abuse we all received from the Borg. Glad you don't have those dreams anymore. Good post days of furture passed. Take care all.. Still Totally ADD

Meeting Days Felt Different?
by pale.emperor ini dont know if it was the same for you, but for me when i was a jw meeting days seemed to have a black cloud hanging over them.
on thursdays i knew i would be going to the meeting that evening.
that i would be getting into my meeting clothes at 6:30pm, leaving the house at 6:55pm and be sat in the kingdom hall from 7:15pm-9pm, then milling around for about half an hour before finally getting home for 10pm.

About 4 years ago we was invited to a award event for a friend of ours. It was on a Thursday night and we had to dress up. It was the first time I put on a suit in three years. When I was tying my tie I started to feel sick by the time I had my jacket on was on I was in a full aniexity attack. It took about half hour to figure out what was going on. Soon after that I was feeling better. So you see how all those meeting days affected me. I hated them. Still Totally ADD
